Lynx-project
Wildland Stiftung BayernHANWAG supports the lynx-project of the Naturpark Bayerischer Wald e.V. (a natural preserve covering a huge forest area at the border to Czech Republic). The project coordinates the repatriation of the lynx in Bavaria. The official body is the Bavarian Ministry for Environment, the acting organisation is the Wildland-Stiftung Bayern, which is linked to the Bavarian Hunting Association. We support the efforts of these institutions to protect our unique landscapes with its huge variety of animals, plants and unspoiled nature.

The way of the wolves
For two years, HANWAG has been cooperating with the ‚Wildland Stiftung‘, an environmental organistion of the Bavarian Hunting Association, and supports the Lynx project of the nature preserve in the Bavarian Forest. In 2008, we started collaborating with wilderness manager Peter Sürth. Sürth (43) lives in the Black Forest, but is travelling a lot: his long term project “The way of the wolves” often takes him to Rumania where he’s observing bears using radio-telemetry and with his lectures on wolves, bears and lynx he tours German schools.
